Here are some ways to deal with stubborn unwanted feelings.
- Add physical activity to your daily schedule. A strong body builds a strong mind.
- Deal with any area of grief. Allow yourself to mourn what is gone as well as any area of mistreatment you have experienced.
- Take notice of what triggers your negative feeling and start preparing to deal with them in advance. Find a healthy coping method.
- Accept the reality… feelings are fickle. They are ever changing. Good feelings will come and bad feelings will go. Just remind yourself when you are feeling low, “This too will pass.” Bad feelings do not have to last forever unless you choose to never let them go.
- Don’t allow your mind to continue rehearsing the situation you are in if it causes you stress. Take control of your mind and choose to not blow any situation out of proportion. Stay calm until you are able to deal with the situation from a pure and calm heart.
